The 4th Urbanisation and poverty reduction research conference hosted by the World Bank, George Washington University, and the IGC will bring together academics and development practitioners to present and discuss the challenges of sustainable urbanisation in developing countries.

The conference will take place on 8 September at the World Bank in Washington, DC, and will be structured around research presentations by leading academics. It will include an opening session on urban governance where an explicit link to the IGC Cities that Work initiative will also be made. The panel will feature Craig Kesson (City of Cape Town), Jennifer Musisi (Kampala Capital City Authority), and Paul Romer (World Bank).
