4th Annual India-Bihar Growth Conference

Saturday, 19th July 2014 to Sunday, 20th July 2014

The 4th Annual Bihar Growth Conference will be organized on the 19th and 20th of July this year in Patna. In the past, the conference has brought together political leaders, senior bureaucrats, and leading academics together to generate ideas for growth. Last year, over 200 people attended the conference, and continuing with the trend, this year we have an impressive lineup of speakers promising a stimulating two days of debates and discussions.

5th IGC-ISI India Development Policy Conference

Thursday, 17th July 2014 to Friday, 18th July 2014

The 5th IGC-ISI India Development Policy Conference will be held at Le Meridien, New Delhi, from 17 - 18 July 2014. The conference is meant to bring together researchers and policymakers to present and discuss the implications of research produced by the India Central Programme in Phase I and II of its operation, on various issues central to India's growth and development, and to identify questions for future research.

I4I Policy Panel: Emerging Challenges - Economic and Social

Wednesday, 16th July 2014

'Ideas for India' (www.ideasforindia.in) - an economics and policy portal run by IGC India Central - will be completing two years in July 2014. To mark the second anniversary of the portal, a Panel Discussion is being organised by the Editorial Board of I4I on Wednesday, 16th July at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi, between 6 pm and 8 pm. The event is being held on the eve of the 5th IGC-ISI India Development Policy Conference (17-18 July), the annual conference of the India Central Programme.

The event will involve a panel discussion on "Emerging Challenges -- Economic and Social", moderated by Ashok Kotwal (Editor-in-Chief, I4I; Professor of Economics, University of British Columbia). The panel will include Abhijit Banerjee (Professor of Economics, MIT) and Mukul Kesavan (Associate Professor, Department of History and Culture, Jamia Millia University, New Delhi).
