Christopher Adam's research focuses on the macroeconomics and political economy of low-income economies, principally those of Sub-Saharan Africa. Recent work has focused on the macroeconomic effects of aid and he is currently engaged in an Economic and Social Research Council project on the macroeconomic management of external volatility. His current and recent appointments include: Professeur Invite at the Centre d'Etudes et de Recherches sur le Developpement International (CERDI), Universite d'Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand; External Macroeconomic Adviser to the Policy Division at the Department for International Development (DFID); Visiting Scholar at the International Monetary Fund (IMF); and board member of the African Economic Research Consortium. He is currently the co-editor of the Oxford Bulletin of Economics and Statistics and is a member of the editorial board of Oxford Economic Papers and Oxford Development Studies.
