Gerard Padró i Miquel is a Lecturer in Economics at the London School of Economics. He is an affiliate of the Bureau for the Economics Analysis of Development (BREAD) and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a MSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics from LSE. He is interested in the political economy of developing countries and has published work on the ethnic underpinnings of dictatorships and on civil war.
