Maitreesh Ghatak is Professor of Economics and Political Science at the London School of Economics. He is former Managing Editor of the Review of Economics Studies, and is currently Co-Editor of the Journal of Development Economics. He is Director of the research programme Economic Organization and Public Policy (EOPP) at the Suntory Toyota International Centre for Economics and Related Disciplines (STICERD). He previously taught at the University of Chicago, and is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research and is a member of the Board of Directors, as well as Senior Fellow of the Bureau for Research in Economic Analysis of Development (BREAD). His work focuses mainly on issues in development economics, public economics and economics of organizations. He was educated at Presidency College, Calcutta (Bachelor’s in Economics), Delhi School of Economics (Master’s in Economics), and Harvard University (PhD in Economics).
