Muloongo is a Graduate Research Assistant at Virginia Commonwealth University. She was a former IGC Country Economist. She holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Cape Town, and an Honours Degree in Economics from the University of Namibia. Muloongo worked for the Southern Africa Labour and Development Research Unit (SALDRU) in Cape Town as an Analyst on the National Income Dynamics Study (NIDS)-South Africa’s first nationally representative household panel survey. While at SALDRU she carried out analyses on household wealth dynamics and homeownership. She has also worked for the Labour Research Service (LRS) in South Africa where she gained experience on labour issues, more specifically on the informal sector. Her main interests are in development finance, household welfare dynamics and the political economy in developing countries.
