Noopur Abhishek was an IGC Country Economist for India Central. She holds an MSc in Economics for Development from the University of Oxford and a B.A. in Economics (Honours) from Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi. Prior to joining the IGC, Noopur worked as an Associate in the programme review and management team at Pratham and as a Research Consultant at a micro-finance institute at Oxford. Her postgraduate research was an empirical analysis of child labour outcomes in Andhra Pradesh. Her research interests include education, health, human development and governance.
