Will Masters is Professor and Chair of the Department of Food and Nutrition Policy at the Friedman School of Nutrition, Tufts University. His recent books include an undergraduate textbook, Economics of Agricultural Development (Routledge, 2nd ed. 2010) and Distortions to Agricultural Incentives in Africa (World Bank, 2009). Recent papers include “Effects and Determinants of Mild Underweight Among Preschool Children Across Countries and Over Time” (Economics and Human Biology, 2010), and “Entry into Winner-Take-All and Proportional-Prize Contests: An Experimental Study” (Journal of Public Economics, 2010). From 2006 through 2011 he was co-editor (with Gerald Shively) of Agricultural Economics, the journal of the International Association of Agricultural Economists. He attended Deep Springs College (1979-81), then graduated from Yale University (1984) and received a Ph.D. from the Food Research Institute of Stanford University (1991). He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Deep Springs College, and an International Fellow of the African Association of Agricultural Economists. His website is http://sites.tufts.edu/willmasters.
