Governance

The IGC is a partnership between LSE and the University of Oxford, with the IGC hub located at LSE.

The IGC is led by Executive Director Jonathan Leape, working closely with Directors Robin Burgess, Professor of Economics at LSE, and Paul Collier, Professor of Economics and Public Policy at the University of Oxford. Strategic vision is provided by the Steering Group, a group of top academics, and the Senior Advisors, a group of global policy leaders. The Executive Director leads a senior management team based at LSE in London.

Our global research network is led by Research Programme Directors, who are top international researchers on growth. Country leadership teams – Country Directors and Lead Academics – lead policy engagement in our nine partner countries, supported by full-time Country Economists and the London hub. The IGC’s country offices bring leading researchers and senior policymakers together and support long-term policy engagement.

The IGC is a partnership between LSE and the University of Oxford, with the IGC hub  located at LSE. As a research centre at the LSE, the IGC benefits from the expertise, operating platforms, and oversight of the LSE compliance framework, including finance, legal, and human resources functions.

Funding

The IGC has been majority funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) since its founding, with oversight from the FCDO Governance Board. We also receive funding for our research and policy engagement work from a number of other organisations.
