Addressing urban growth in risky areas
Project Active from to Sustainable Growth and Cities
Climate change-driven migration is increasing urban growth in climate-vulnerable informal settlements in Africa. This strains municipal finances and increases economic, social, and health costs for affected households. This project quantifies these costs in climate-exposed neighbourhoods of Freetown, Sierra Leone, and assesses the costs and benefits of various policy responses.
