Climate smart agriculture in Gilgit-Baltistan
This project introduces climate smart agriculture (CSA) to the Gilgit-Baltistan region in Pakistan, using AI and digital tools to tailor cultivation practices to local agro-climatic conditions. Through collaboration with the Mountain and Glacier Protection Organisation and field surveys, the project assesses both the technical suitability of CSA methods and the factors influencing farmers’ willingness to adopt them, with broader implications for sustainable agriculture across the wider Himalayas-Karakoram-Hindukush region.
