Constraints to minibus taxi service

Project Active from 15 Sep 2025 to 31 Mar 2026 Sustainable Growth, Cities and Cities that Work

Minibus taxis in Cape Town play a vital role in bridging gaps in public transit, but congestion at central taxi ranks limits their efficiency and expansion. This project will evaluate the impact of traffic optimisations at the Station Deck terminal—designed to support 20 new routes—by analysing taxi tracking data in partnership with the City of Cape Town.
