Digitising historical, monthly plant-level panel data on labour outcomes

Project Active from to Firms, Trade and Sustainable Growth

We aim to digitise unpublished historical plant-level data from India’s Annual Survey of Industries, specifically the monthly labour statistics in Part II, drawn from magnetic tapes and disks covering roughly 1960 to 2005. Once digitised, the data will be made freely available through government portals and will enable new research on long-run labour dynamics, seasonality and plant-level panels.
