E-monitoring and organisational structure: Experimental evidence from Sierra Leone

Project Active from 31 Mar 2023 to 31 Dec 2024 State Effectiveness

This project investigates how governments can use e-monitoring technologies to enhance public service delivery and examines the impact of organisational structure on these gains. A randomised controlled trial with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation tests the effects of e-monitoring apps and varying supervisor-to-worker ratios on service provision, with findings aimed at informing government policies.
