Project Active from to Sustainable Growth and State Effectiveness

By constructing a novel dataset on Brazil's electoral crime cases and leveraging random variation in judge assignments, this project explores how enforcing election laws affects politicians' candidacy and re-election chances. It highlights how election laws influence political and voter outcomes, with potential implications for strengthening electoral systems in fragile states.
