Shining a light on energy access: Evaluating the impact of free solar panel installations on low-income households in Punjab, Pakistan

Project Active from to Sustainable Growth and Energy

This project evaluates the Punjab government’s free solar panel scheme for low-income households. Leveraging the scheme’s randomised lottery design, it examines impacts on energy use, grid reliability, and socio-economic outcomes, providing insights for renewable energy policy in countries facing similar challenges in energy access, high electricity costs, and power shortages.
