Enhancing Land Registration in Sierra Leone: A Blockchain-Based Solution for Secure Land Titling and Agricultural Development

Project Active from to Cities, land use and Urban planning

This project explores how blockchain technology can strengthen land registration systems in Sierra Leone, where unclear land rights and weak institutions often deter agricultural investment and development. By piloting a combined blockchain and SMS-based system, the initiative seeks to reduce land disputes, improve transparency, and promote gender-inclusive land ownership. The project supports the implementation of Sierra Leone’s National Land Policy and aims to enhance rural livelihoods and long-term development.
