Carbon emissions in Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda have continued to rise even after introducing various environmental taxes designed to control pollution.
This project considers whether particular categories of environmental taxes can help reduce emissions, with a view to practical lessons for East African governments as they seek to continue to advance environmental fiscal policy while maintaining some consideration for economic activity.
