Flexible work arrangements, wage employment, and firm size
Project Active from to Firms and Firm capabilities
This project investigates the impact of regular labour supply and increased worker coordination on productivity in apparel manufacturing in India. By incentivising workers in small firms to temporarily follow fixed work schedules, the study aims to estimate workers' willingness to pay for flexibility and assess the effects on firm-level outcomes such as output, profits, and costs, providing insights into balancing worker preferences and firm productivity in manufacturing settings.
