The heterogenous effects of rural electrification: Evidence from Zambia

Project Active from to Energy

In collaboration with the Ministries of Energy, Education and Health, and Zamstats, this project assembles a wealth of administrative data to track the electrification process at the ward-level over time.

This study combines electrification project level data with geo-referenced microdata (100% sample) from two populations censuses, multiple waves of household surveys (DHS, LFS), administrative data on the universe of health facilities, schools and national exam scores, and remotely-sensed data (e.g., nightlights, tree cover).
