Improving state effectiveness in environmental risk mitigation: Experimental evidence from Bangladesh

Project Active from to State Effectiveness and Sustainable Growth

This study investigates how information-based incentives can enhance state effectiveness in public health resource allocation, focusing on the distribution of arsenic-safe deep wells in rural Bangladesh. By equipping local bureaucrats with a scoring tool and recognising high-performing officials, the project aims to align political decision-making with public health priorities to reduce arsenic exposure.
