Incentives in networks with redistributive pressures and endogenous incomes: Pilot study
This study investigates how redistributive pressures within social networks in developing countries—driven by income uncertainty and limited access to credit—affect labour supply, risk-taking, and consumption decisions. Using a lab-in-the-field experiment in Uganda, it quantifies the efficiency costs of these spillovers and explores their implications for labour markets, informal credit behaviour, and the design of targeted cash transfer programs.
