Introducing anonymity and third-party information to combat customs tax evasion in Pakistan

Project Active from 25 Aug 2025 to 31 Mar 2026 State Effectiveness

Pakistan’s Federal Board of Revenue loses over PKR 600 billion annually to under-invoicing, partly due to inefficiencies in its Risk Management System. This project will evaluate two key reforms, namely faceless customs assessment and RMS upgrades, to assess their impact on processing efficiency, revenue recovery, and the detection of evasion.
