Measuring and explaining electricity productivity differences across countries
This project aims to provide the first comprehensive cross-country analysis of productivity in the electricity sector by constructing a globally comparable dataset on electricity output, inputs, and capital. Using this data, the study will quantify productivity differences, identify their proximate causes, and assess how low electricity productivity contributes to income disparities between developing and developed countries through a macroeconomic modeling approach.
