Minibuses or pickup trucks? Informal transit technology adoption in Maputo
This project explores the emergence of privatised shared transit technologies in Maputo, Mozambique, focusing on the impact of urban density, income, and price regulations on vehicle quality and size. The pilot survey data will contribute to a later model of demand highlighting how improved quality could translate into worker-to-job matches, emissions reductions, and welfare improvement.
