Navigating post-LDC graduation: Firm-level evidence on export pricing strategies of Bangladesh’s RMG sector in preferential vs. non-preferential markets
Project Active from to Firms, Trade, Firm capabilities and productivity
Bangladesh is preparing to graduate from Least Developed Country status by 2026, which will lead to the loss of duty-free market access in key export destinations such as the EU and the US. This study investigates how ready-made garment firms are pricing their exports in both preferential and non-preferential markets, using firm-level customs data and advanced econometric analysis. The findings aim to inform policies that support export competitiveness in a post-LDC trade environment.
