Petals of progress: Unlocking the potential of Pakistan's ornamental flower market
The global floriculture market is worth over USD 50 billion annually, with countries like Kenya and India as leading exporters. Pakistan’s floriculture exports, however, remain below USD 1 million per year, despite employing around 150,000 people in Kasur district and having significant untapped potential. This research examines the challenges and opportunities in Pakistan’s floriculture sector, focusing on smallholders in Kasur, aiming to identify ways to promote sustainable growth and value addition through collaboration between public, private, and academic sectors.
