Putting things on the right track: Key reform priorities for sustainable and inclusive development
Bangladesh is at a critical juncture, requiring comprehensive reforms to address structural challenges and improve economic functioning. With support from the IGC, Research and Policy Integration for Development (RAPID) has produced a series of policy briefs that provide actionable recommendations for promoting inclusivity, sustainable development, and long-term resilience.
The first policy brief focuses on strengthening the social protection system, analysing its existing gaps, long overdue institutional and programmatic reforms required, and setting immediate priorities.
The second paper focuses on priority considerations to advance domestic resource mobilisation, offering a roadmap to boost revenue collection while fostering inclusive growth and equitable development.
The third brief examines the challenges posed by Bangladesh’s graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status, identifying urgent policy reforms required to promote export competitiveness and diversification and mitigate any potential consequences.
The fourth brief focuses on the challenges of employment generation particularly for the youth suggesting urgent measures to generate decent jobs that can unlock the potential of Bangladesh’s large, young workforce.
