Road to somewhere: Testing a buyback centre for plastic in Mozambique
This project tests low-cost strategies to promote recycling in Quelimane, Mozambique, where infrastructure and budget constraints hinder waste collection. It builds on a first phase that combined household information campaigns with the mobilisation of bicycle-taxi drivers to collect recyclables for a buyback centre. It examines whether such behavioural changes extend to untreated neighbours, providing evidence on the diffusion of recycling practices.
