The role of managerial identity in Ethiopia’s public sector

Project Active from to Sustainable Growth

In public administration, managers' personal characteristics are crucial for effective performance due to non-contractible activities and long tenures. Despite this, little empirical work has studied the role of professional identity in organisational performance. In collaboration with the Ethiopian Management Institute, this project investigates how managerial identity impacts training outcomes for public-sector middle managers. The aim is to enhance public sector performance through targeted interventions.
