Spatial construction dynamics in sites and services projects
“Sites-and-Services” projects in African cities provide formal empty plots with modest services near city edges for new home builds. While these projects can increase land values and housing quality, they often have a slow rate of housing construction. This study examines the challenges builders face in Tanzania and whether they overcome them, contributing to a better understanding of urban expansion dynamics and informing policies to accelerate housing development.
