This project evaluates Ghana’s government initiative aimed at formalising artisanal and small-scale mining to reduce illegal galamsey activities and promote sustainable rural development. It develops and tests a framework to assess the initiative's economic, social, and environmental impacts, offering early insights to guide future policy and research.
