Women at the wheel: Asset financing to empower women in the transportation sector
Pakistan’s female labour force participation rate is low, and public transport is often unsafe for women. This project scales up a pilot offering security-enhanced auto-rickshaws to female job seekers. It tests two distinct vehicle financing products and studies the impact of social norms on women’s labour participation through surveys and behavioural games.
