Domestic Debt, Monetary Policy, and Stabilisation: A Public Lecture with Professor Christopher Adam
The Bank of Tanzania in collaboration with the IGC, will host a public lecture with Professor Christopher Adam on debt, monetary policy and stability in Tanzania.
The lecture will bring together policymakers, researchers, and practitioners for a discussion on the macroeconomic policy challenges facing Tanzania and the role of fiscal, monetary, and debt policy in supporting long-term stability and growth.
Professor Adam’s research focuses on macroeconomic theory and policy in low-income countries, with particular attention to Sub-Saharan Africa and the economies of East Africa.
His work has examined monetary, exchange rate, and fiscal policy in post-stabilisation economies, making this lecture an opportunity to connect international research evidence with Tanzania’s current policy priorities.
The session will provide space for Professor Adam to share insights from his research and for participants to reflect on how these issues relate to the Bank of Tanzania’s own policy thinking and Tanzania’s wider economic context.
