We invite you to participate online in this companion session to the FCDO’s Global Partnership Conference where this workshop explores what it really means to “get growth right” in a decade shaped by geopolitical fragmentation, AI, climate risk and demographic change.
Building on the emerging global Beyond GDP agenda, recognising that “GDP is a measure of economic activity, not of progress or prosperity” and that “planetary boundaries define the ecological ceiling; social foundations define the social floor”, the discussion focuses on how growth strategies and metrics must evolve to support shared wellbeing, sustainability and economic resilience.
Panellists from government, industry, academia and the multilateral system examine practical implications for policy, business practices, standards and supply chains, asking how countries can translate new measures of progress into credible, politically viable growth models for the next decade.
We then hold structured, interactive breakout sessions in which participants can share their views and together examine the questions posed by the panel.
