IGC Jordan Labour Market Symposium
In collaboration with MoPIC, IGC Jordan organises a two-day event to address critical labour market challenges, focusing on youth and women’s participation in Jordan. As Jordan faces rising unemployment and ongoing gaps in evidence-based policymaking, this symposium aims to bridge those gaps through insights from the Jordan Labour Market Framing Paper (JLMFP).
This event addresses existing research gaps and also shapes IGC’s future labour market agenda in Jordan, solidifying its impact in the MENA region.
Key objectives:
- Introduce IGC Jordan’s work in labour market research to the academic and policymaking community.
- Enhance Jordan’s labour evidence base by sharing actionable findings from recent studies.
- Foster collaboration between global and local experts to drive evidence-informed policy decisions.
- Strengthen data-driven policymaking capacity among technocrats to address pressing labour market issues.
Day One
High-level policy dialogue
The first day brings together senior government officials, leading academics, and policy experts to discuss the latest evidence-based insights and align them with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Plan, which targets job creation and female labour force participation. This dialogue aims to strengthen partnerships, foster new collaborations, and highlight IGC’s ongoing role in advancing Jordan’s labour market agenda.
