India Sustainable Growth Hub (ISGH) Environment Day 2025

Past Event ISI Delhi Auditorium From to Sustainable Growth

Join us for ISGH Environment Day 2025, a flagship gathering of leading policymakers, researchers, and practitioners working at the intersection of energy, climate and development. The event is hosted by the India Sustainable Growth Hub (ISGH)—a collaboration between the Center for Research on the Economics of Climate, Food, Energy, and Environment (CECFEE) at the Indian Statistical Institute and the International Growth Centre (LSE)—to advance India’s strategy for low-carbon, resilient, and inclusive growth.

India’s development trajectory shapes global climate outcomes, even as rising temperatures, changing monsoon patterns, and intensifying climate risks affect millions at home. The conference brings together experts to reflect on these challenges and explores reforms that drive cleaner energy, stronger resilience, and inclusive economic growth.

Themes include carbon pricing pathways and the future of carbon markets in India; India’s energy transition and the evolving landscape of renewable energy and power distribution reforms; and the macroeconomic implications of climate change.

Following the second panel discussion, the programme features a virtual public lecture by Nobel Laureate Professor Philippe Aghion, whose work on innovation, growth, and climate policy shapes global debates on sustainable development.

All sessions, with the exception of the virtual lecture, are held under the Chatham House Rule to encourage open and candid discussion.
