Hosted in collaboration with Economic Research Southern Africa (ERSA) and The World Bank, this winter school is designed to provide a focus on urban and regional economics in Africa.

The winter school on urban and regional economics in Africa took place on June 9-10, 2025, at the University of Cape Town. This two-day workshop focused on urban and regional economics in Africa. The event aimed to stimulate interest and deepen understanding of the economic dynamics of cities and urbanisation among young scholars and practitioners across Africa. The workshop was co-hosted by Economic Research South Africa (ERSA), the International Growth Centre (IGC), and the World Bank.
