On 30 July 2025, IGC Ethiopia and the Research Centre for Sustainable Development at Addis Ababa University signed an MoU to collaborate on economic research supporting evidence-based policymaking in Ethiopia, focusing on firms, cities, energy, and state effectiveness.

On 30 July 2025 the International Growth Centre (IGC) Ethiopia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Research Centre for Sustainable Development at Addis Ababa University (RCSD-AAU). This partnership reflects a shared commitment to generating high-quality, policy-relevant research aimed at addressing key economic challenges in Ethiopia. The RCSD operates under the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) at Addis Ababa University, one of the country’s leading academic and research institutions.

“We at the IGC are excited about our new partnership with AAU, which will enhance capacity to support evidence-based economic policymaking in Ethiopia”, said Kathie Krumm, Country Director of IGC Ethiopia.

Through the memorandum, IGC Ethiopia and RCSD-AAU will work jointly to carry out research and policy analysis on the development and implementation of policies supporting the role of productive firms, functioning cities, access to energy, and state effectiveness in the growth of Ethiopia.
