Adam Collins is a Regional Economist for IGC’s Firms Initiative. Based in Uganda, he supports the Initiative’s work across Ethiopia, Uganda, and Rwanda.
Prior to joining IGC, Adam worked in private sector development and public policy roles across Africa and South Asia. Most recently, he led Corporate Affairs, M&A, and Investor Relations at Hela Apparel Holdings PLC, a multinational apparel manufacturer with operations across East and North Africa. During this time, he worked closely with governments and development partners on investment projects, supply-chain development, and firm growth. He previously served as an Overseas Development Institute (ODI) Fellow in Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and earlier worked as an Emerging Markets Economist at Capital Economics in London. Adam holds an MSc in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London, and a BSc in Economics from SOAS, University of London.
