Alejandra Castañeda is an AI Engineer at the IGC, where she works on developing scalable AI and data systems to support economic research and policymaking across multiple country contexts in collaboration with researchers, governments, and partner institutions.
Alejandra specializes in building AI and data systems for public policy and social impact. She holds an MSc in Social Data Science from the University of Oxford and conducted labour market research using language models at the Oxford Internet Institute. Her prior experience spans AI and data consulting across the public sector, private sector, NGOs, and international organizations. She has engineered production-grade AI systems in the private sector, delivered large-scale data solutions for public infrastructure and development projects at Deloitte, and built impact monitoring systems for global education programmes at UNESCO.
