Alemnesh Tadesse Gebreselassie is a lecturer and PhD candidate in Economics at Addis Ababa University. Her research focuses on climate economics, trade, and inclusive development, with an emphasis on applied policy analysis. During her IGC PhD Summer Placement, she worked with the IGC Ethiopia team and the Ministry of Planning and Development to examine competitiveness and supply chain dynamics in key industrial sectors. Her research highlights how stronger domestic input systems and deeper value chain integration can support Ethiopia’s industrial transformation.
