Allegra Saggese is a Policy Economist specialising in Energy and Sustainability at the International Growth Centre (IGC) at the London School of Economics (LSE). The goal of the initiative is to strengthen the linkage between development and urgent climate and energy issues. The programme identifies the unique challenges facing developing nations in a changing climate and seeks to develop actionable guidance for policymakers on adaptation and resilience planning, energy access, electrification, biodiversity and low carbon industrialisation.

Allegra received her MSc in Environmental Economics and Climate Change at the LSE and a BS in Environmental Economics from the University of California, Berkeley. Before her role at IGC, Allegra was an Economist at Vivid Economics by McKinsey, a consulting firm specialising in climate and energy issues. She has experience across a range of topics in decarbonisation, including climate-sensitive cost benefit analysis, financial incentives for nature-based solutions and net zero solutions in heavy industry, waste, and financial sectors.
