Amna is a Country Economist for IGC Pakistan. She holds a MPA from Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, concentrating in Economic and Political Development. She has worked extensively on poverty alleviation, poverty graduation, and targeting under a research collaboration between Professors from Harvard University, MIT and LSE and the national social protection program in Pakistan. She has previously provided research support on a donor-funded capacity development program on public procurement, and has worked in risk management at a corporate bank. She had the opportunity to work at the UN headquarters in New York during the General Assembly session that saw the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Her research interests include state effectiveness and capacity, economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, sustainable development (especially wrt alignment with the UN Agenda 2030), and political economy of governance.
