Anke Hoeffler is a Research Officer at the Centre for the Study of African Economies and a research fellow at St. Antony's College, University of Oxford. She is also a research associate at the International Peace Research Institute in Oslo. Her research focuses on the macroeconomics of developing countries, the economics of conflict and political economy. She has published a range of papers on causes of war, military expenditure, post-conflict economies, the effect of aid and the problems of democracy in low-income and natural-resource-rich societies. Her most recent publication is the co-authored article 'Testing the Neocon Agenda: Democracy in Resource-Rich Countries' in the European Economic Review (with Paul Collier).
