Arun Jacob is currently a PhD candidate in Development Economics at the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, Geneva. Previously, he worked as an Economist at the President’s Office Planning Commission in Tanzania as part of the ODI fellowship scheme. He also has wide consultancy experience on international development issues with UNDP, UNIDO, World Bank and Oxford Analytica. He holds an MPhil degree and a postgraduate diploma in Economics from Cambridge University (UK), where he was a Bill and Melinda Gates Scholar. He received his undergraduate degree from the St.Stephen’s College, Delhi University, India. His current research interests involve the role of traditional institutions and customs in determining development outcomes, and impact evaluation of social programmes in developing countries.
