Asadul Islam completed his PhD at Monash University in 2009 having received his BSS and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka, and MA in Economics from University of Saskatchewan, Canada. Prior to joining at Monash, Dr Islam worked at Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) as a research associate and the research fellow. Asadul Islam works on issues related to immigration in labour economics. His recent research focuses on microfinance, schooling and health, petty corruption, and risk-sharing mechanisms of households.
