Atonu Rabbani is a Lead Academic for IGC Bangladesh.
Atonu is a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Dhaka and a lead academic with the International Growth Centre (IGC). He also serves as an advisor to the South Asian Network for Development and Environmental Economics (SANDEE). He previously held the Mushtaque Chowdhury Professorship of Health and Poverty at the BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University. As an applied microeconomist, his research encompasses health, labor, organization, environment, and energy economics. He specialises in experimental and quasi-experimental methodologies to examine technology adoption, behavioural change, and their economic consequences. Dr. Rabbani earned his PhD and MA in Economics from the University of Chicago, and his MSS and BSS (Honors) in Economics from the University of Dhaka.
