Austin L. Wright is Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Princeton University and an affiliate of the Empirical Studies of Conflict Project. His primary research leverages microlevel data to study the dynamics of internal conflict, from colonial Colombia and dynastic China to modern insurgencies in Afghanistan and Pakistan. His job market paper studies economic shocks and rebel tactics in Colombia. His secondary research addresses classical questions in international relations and international political economy.
Prior to attending Princeton, he was a Teach For America corps member in New Orleans, Louisiana. He received his undergraduate degrees (BA/BS) from the University of Texas at Austin in 2009.
