Ayebare Deborah is a Senior Macroeconomist at Uganda’s National Planning Authority, where she has helped design and implement key national strategies including the third and fourth National Development Plans and Uganda’s macroeconomic modelling framework. She holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Dar es Salaam and is pursuing a PhD at Makerere University. Her current research examines household energy transitions in rural Uganda using pooled national survey data from 2012–2020. The study analyses trends in fuel use and their implications for child health and mortality, providing policy options to accelerate the shift toward clean energy and advance Uganda’s SDG targets.
